MOWING AT THE VILLAGE OF MAROVAC

Medvedja – Owing to the fifteenth anniversary of the tourist event “Mowing at Marovac“, a few  dozen best mowers from Upper Jablanica gathered this year.  Their gathering at Marovac, which is the farthest mountain village in the municipality of Medvedja, was an opportunity for a sort of national gathering of hundreds of local residents and their descendants that are scattered around the world.

Dragan Ristic was declared the best mower, while the second place went to Micko Papovic and the third to the former five-time winner Rajko Ristovic. After the mowing competition, the competition in pulling the rope, throwing a stone from the shoulder, cutting logs with a chainsaw, running, rope climbing and shooting form air rifle was organized near the church at Marovac.  

The best competitors, especially the best mowers, received awards from the organizers - the Tourist Organization of Medvedja, the Regional Association “Kitka” and the local community of Marovac.
