MINISTRY OF ECONOMY EARMARKED 80 MILLION DINARS FOR UNDERDEVELOPED MUNICIPALITIES

26. September 2016.

Belgrade – Following a public call, the Ministry of Economy reached a decision on supporting 40 local self-governments with 80 million dinars for the preparation of infrastructure projects for the improvement of industrial and business zones, incubators and clusters, restoration of brownfield sites, as well as for developing transport and utilities infrastructure.

Of a total of 40 approved projects, 22 are intended for underdeveloped municipalities, of which eight of them are in devastated municipalities, so that the total support of the Ministry to underdeveloped and devastated municipalities under this program is as high as 56.5 million dinars, the Ministry of Economy stated.

The municipalities and cities that have been granted support, among others, include the municipalities of Bujanovac and Medvedja.

The financial support in the preparation of technical documentation is being implemented as part of the Program of promoting a balanced regional development in 2016, while the Ministry, depending on the development of a local self-government, co-finances by a certain percentage the total cost of development of technical documentation. The cities and municipalities are obliged to fund the remaining project cost, it was said in the statement.
