COMMERCIAL BANK BELGRADE ALLOCATES INVESTMENT FUNDS TO BUJANOVAC

As part of fostering cooperation between the private and public sector, the Commercial Bank Belgrade and the USAID, through the Municipal Economic Growth Activity (MEGA) Program, awarded the first prize at the competition „Invest in Serbia 2010“ to the municipality of Bujanovac, which was the best municipality in the category of „The Best Partnership Project“. The Commercial Bank Belgrade allocated to Bujanovac the funds for making further investments in Bujanovac’s manufacturing and business zone.  The presentation of economic potentials of this municipality, as well as of the awarded example of a successful cooperation with the local industry, was followed by the giving of prizes. This year, twenty – nine local self – governments from all over Serbia gathered together at the „Invest in Serbia“ competition, where they competed in demonstrating their capacities for attracting new and keeping the existing investors.  A separate category of the competition „The Best Partnership Project“, required from the local self-governments to present the results they achieved in the field of cooperation with the local businessmen.

Bujanovac presented itself with the solving of problems in the „Sector Six“ industrial zone, and at the request of businessmen, the  Local Economic Development Office assisted with removing drawbacks in the electric power infrastructure by constructing three transformer stations, which used to limit  production. Also provided was the employment for thirty persons in the first stage of the project, while another sixty persons should get permanent employment later on.
