LITERARY AND ART COMPETITION FOR PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN MEDVEDJA ANNOUNCED

Medvedja – On the occasion of marking the 125th anniversary of the birth of Ivo Andric, and in order to promote reading and foster the written word, the municipal library "Petar Petrović Njegoš" in Medvedja announced a literary and art competition for primary and secondary school students in the municipality of Medvedja.

The topics about which elementary school students from the 1st to 4th grade should write and paint are: "It Happened on the Bridge," and "I Love to Read."

Schoolchildren from the 5th to the 8th grade: "Review of One of Andric's Short Stories," "I Love to Read" (with reference to Andric's work), "Review of One Scene from Andric's Work" (only for art competition) and "Cover Page of Andric's Book" (only for art contest).

Secondary school students: "Presentation of one of Ivo Andric’s Books" and "Bridge Like a Motif in Andric's Works."

Eligible to apply are all primary and secondary school students. Literary works can be both poetic and prose. Art works can be done in all the techniques. In addition to the work to be sent, information about the student (name, grade, classroom), as well as the name of the mentor/ teacher and school (address, phone, e-mail), should be submitted.

The works of students should be sent by October 23, 2017, to the following address: Municipal Library "Petar Petrović Njegoš" (with reference to the competition), 65, Jablanička St, 16240 Medvedja

The decision on the winners will be reached by a jury, while the "Petar Petrović Njegoš" library provided the prizes for the top three places in all age groups. The competition results will be announced and prizes awarded in November 2017
