LETTER TO CITIZENS - 29.12.2021.

Dear citizens of Preševo, Bujanovac and Medveđa,

Another difficult, pandemic year is behind us. It is even more difficult for us in the Coordination Body, because our president, professor doctor Zoran Stanković has left us. Professor Stanković was the embodiment of kindness and principles. He was always ready to help and resolve problems of citizens from Preševo, Bujanovac and Medveđa. We, the staff of the Coordination Body, will continue to work in his manner. We will continue helping the development of the economy in the municipalities, to solve education issues and to support young people and development of civil sector.

Dear fellow citizens, on this occasion, I would like to inform you regarding our activities. In the past year, more than 212 million dinars have been invested in infrastructure, streets paving and reconstruction of old water supply and sewage networks, facilities of key importance for municipalities Preševo, Bujanovac and Medveđa. Through non-refundable funds of 40 million dinars for small and medium companies, we have also helped create new jobs.

We provided almost 4 million dinars for the travel expenses of primary and secondary school students. Moreover, we donated school bags and accessories worth more than 2.2 million dinars.

Due to the objectively difficult pandemic year, the Coordination Body helped Health Centers in Preševo, Bujanovac and Sijarinska Banja and the kindergartens “8. Mart”, “Naša radost” and “Mladost” in total amount of 2.256.260 dinars. We provided scholarships for 300 students in total amount of 10 million and 800 thousand dinars. Whenever we had the opportunity, we provided one-time help and donated funds to the most endangered people in our society. We spent 8.5 million dinars for single parents, children with disabilities, Roma and poor children during last year.

Finally, in the end of the year, in coordination with the Ministry of Human Rights and Social Dialogue, we resumed talks with representatives of the Albanian community regarding very important issues. Initially, we opened the issue of education and talked about textbooks in Albanian and exams for licenses. In this regard, the Coordination Body provided 1,165,430 dinars for the project of the National Council of the Albanian National Minority “Textbooks for Albanian Community in 2021”.
