LAST TRANCHE OF A SUBSIDY FOR FARMERS PAID IN MEDVEDJA

Medvedja – Contracts were handed out to 28 farmers in the municipality of Medvedja, or the last tranche of a subsidy for agriculture, which amounts to 1,483,787.77 dinars, was paid to them. Still to be paid are 500,000 dinars, which are intended for taking the measure of artificial insemination of cows and heifers. The payment will be effected in the coming period.

"We have planned to earmark in the budget a larger amount for incentives in agriculture in the coming year. The preparations for the incentive program for the following year have already begun. We should consider the farmers who have not received any subsidies this year because the funds intended for the competition were spent before the competition completion deadline,” Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja, said.

By the 2016 budget, 10 million dinars were earmarked for agriculture. Of that amount, 9.5 million dinars were set aside for investment in the purchase of new machinery, livestock and irrigation systems. 168 farm owners from the area of the municipality of Medvedja applied for and received the funds.
