Over the past twenty or so years, Japan has been one of the biggest and most discrete donors in our country. During the past ten years alone, Serbia received 198.4 million euros from that country.
The Government of Japan is currently implementing several environment protection projects in Serbia, including a project for cleaning Bujanovac.

The Japanese ambassador to Serbia, Mr. Toshio Cunozaki, said that the Government of Japan provided the funds for purchasing the equipment necessary for cleaning Bujanovac. The project is carried out by the Japanese non-governmental organization “Conflict Prevention Center.”

“You can see Serbian and Albanian children there who are jointly trying to achieve a goal, which is a clean environment. When I visited Bujanovac, I was very glad to see those children singing Japanese songs, as well as a song about Bujanovac, which was composed by Mr. Hiroshi Macumoto, the Project Manager. The implementation of the project is going extremely well because of the way in which Mr. Macumoto runs this it,” Ambassador Cunozaki said.
