INTESA BANK REWARDS THE MOST SUCCESSFUL FARMERS – CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR INTESA FARMER 2019!

20. May 2019.

The Intesa Bank launched the seventh in a row Intesa Farmer competition, by which it awards the best agricultural producers. The prize fund of the competition is 2.4 million dinars, while the rewards will be granted in the categories of Intesa Farmer of the Year, Intesa Farmer Innovator and Intesa Young Farmer.

The competition was launched within the panel discussion on the topic "The Future of Agriculture in Serbia," which was organized by the Intesa Bank during the International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad.

Apart from high representatives of the bank, the panel attendants included: Nenad Katanic, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Veljko Jovanovic, the Director of the Department of Agriculture in the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC), Nikola Mihailovic, the President of the Cooperative Association of Serbia, and Alpar Kisimre, a farmer and a client of the Intesa Bank.

"By acknowledging the importance of agriculture for the economic growth of our country, last year we supported registered farms with over 10,000 loans in the total value of around 57 million euros, with a growth in the volume of lending of about 6% compared to the previous year. This success is the result of a very favorable pricing policy, quality offers, as well as numerous initiatives that we have taken, including a special offer for seasonal investments, participation in a subsidized loan program, and the improving of the service model through the introduction of the concept of the Intesa Farmer Center for Working with Large Clients. Also, I would like to emphasize that after the excellent results achieved in 2018, when we, along with the Ministry of Agriculture, were the number one bank in the payment of subsidized loans, we continued the project this year, too. In just three days, we have received over 50 loan requests in the amount of over 50 million dinars, "said Darko Popovic, a member of the Executive Board and the Director of the Business Department for Retail Banking and Small Business of the Intesa Bank.

An expert jury will decide on the winners of the Intesa Farmer 2019 competition on the basis of a number of established criteria, which include annual results, realized investments, use of innovative solutions in the production and placement of products, as well as the processing and placement of products with geographical origin.

All registered agricultural producers, who are clients of the Intesa Bank, can apply for the competition from May 21 to September 20, 2019,  in all branches of the bank throughout the country, by sending an e-mail to IntesaFarmerGodine@bancaintesa.rs or by visiting the site www.bancaintesa.rs.
