INSURANCE PREMIUMS FOR CROPS, FRUITS, PLANTATIONS, PLANT NURSERIES AND ANIMALS

The Agrarian Payments Directorate published the Rules on the requirements and on the form of requests for exercising the right to incentives for the insurance premiums for crops, fruits, perennial plantations, plant nurseries and animals.

The Rules prescribe more precisely the requirements, the manner of exercising the right to compensation for the insurance premiums for crops, fruits, perennial plantations, plant nurseries and animals, as well as the form of request for exercising the right to subsidies.

Eligible to use the subsidies are legal persons, entrepreneurs and natural persons - the owners of commercial family farms, who meet the requirement of having insured at the insurance company the following:

1) Crops and fruits from the risk of reduced yields (field crops - cereals and industrial plants, vegetable crops, fruit trees, vineyards and hops);

2) Plant nurseries and young perennials planted before the occurrence of the risks arising from the requirements of the insurance companies;

3) Animals from the risks prescribed by the terms and conditions of the insurance companies.

40 to 45% of the insurance premium paid, reduced by the amount of the tax, is subsidized.

Maximum amounts of incentives are:

1. For incentives for field crops insurance - 100,000 dinars

2. For incentives for vegetable crops insurance - 500,000 dinars

3. For the insurance of fruit trees, vineyards and hops – 1,000,000 dinars

4. For incentives for the insurance of plant nurseries and/or young perennials before they started producing yields - 500,000 dinars

5. For incentives for the insurance of animals – 2,000,000.00 dinars.

The incentive user can get a maximum of 2,500,000 dinars for all types of incentives.

The request for exercising the right to subsidies for the insured crops or animals is to be submitted in two copies to the Ministry of Finance and Economy – the Treasury Department once a year, from July 1 to November 15 of the current year.

The request is to be accompanied by a certified copy of the insurance policy issued by the insurance company where the applicant is insured in the period from November 16 to November 15 of the current year, as well as a certificate of payment of the total insurance premium.
