HUG FOR RAISING PUBLIC AWARENESS OF RARE DISEASES

In cooperation with the regional associations of patients with rare diseases, the National Organization for Rare Diseases of Serbia is conducting the “Embrace for Rare Diseases” campaign. The aim of the campaign is to raise public awareness of rare diseases and to collect as many photos as possible, by which support for all people with rare diseases and their families will be provided.  

The above-mentioned organization invites all people to join the campaign and to send photos of hugs by February 28, which is the International Day of Rare Diseases.  

“Hug your parents, grandmother, aunt, grandfather, girlfriend, boyfriend, dog, cat or anyone that is dear to you. Let’s embrace each other for rare diseases and step up the visibility of patients with rare diseases and their families,” said people from the organization.   

The rules aren’t difficult and all those who wish to join the campaign may do so by following the steps set out below in the text:  

1. Download the inscription “Embrace for Rare Diseases” from www.norbs.rs/zagrli.pdf or make your own inscription.

2. Hug someone dear to you and take a photo.

3. Send your photo to the Inbox Facebook page Nacionalna organizacija za retke bolesti Srbije or to E-mail office@norbs.rs  

All the received photos will be published on the Facebook page and on NORBS website.

The final activities of “group hugs” will be taken on February 28 at noon in four cities in Serbia, which include Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis and Kragujevac, as well as in the regional cities.
