27. November 2019.

Bujanovac – The Red Cross Branch Office in Bujanovac, with the financial support of the Coordination Body’s Office of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo Bujanovac and Medvedja, has been implementing the “Stop Violence - Stop Discrimination” project since September 2019, which is aimed at reducing youth violence, preventing discrimination and electronic violence, as well as child safety online.

The project activities undertaken so far include workshops for the children attending lower and upper grades of elementary school, a street activity, as well as a public lecture for parents, teachers and youth from the municipality of Bujanovac, which was held on the premises of the “Mladost” sports center in Bujanovac.

“As part of the project, we organized a panel discussion for parents, teachers and youth in the municipality of Bujanovac on the topic of child safety on the Internet, prevention of online violence and discrimination against young people. Speakers at the panel discussion were Emina Bekovic and Bojana Zujovic, representatives of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications. The dangers that young people can experience online and the way of protecting themselves were presented to the attendees of the panel discussion, "said Vlastimir Stojkovic from the Red Cross Branch Office in Bujanovac

The conclusion from the panel discussion is that parents are unaware of their children's activities on the Internet and that they should talk to them and alert them to the dangers lurking on the Internet.
