HEAD OF THE OSCE MISSION TO SERBIA VISITED MEDVEDJA AND SIJARINSKA SPA

Мedvedja – As part of a two-day visit to South Serbia, Peter Burkhard, the Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, and his associates visited the municipality of Medvedja, where they talked with the municipal leaders about the economy and social life in the municipality.

The OSCE Ambassador first met with the Mayor Nebojsa Arsic and the President of the Municipal Assembly Milislav Miletic, whereas he had separate talks with the Deputy President of the Municipal Assembly Fljorim Sahiti.

Then, the OSCE delegation visited Sijarinska Spa.

The hosts informed the visitors about the true situation in the municipality of Medvedja, that the coexistence in the multiethnic municipality ran smoothly, that the political situation was stable and that the economic situation was difficult because of the lack of economic entities and jobs.

The visitors were impressed by the beauty of the mountainous region, Sijarinska Spa and its geyser, which is unique in Europe.
