GRAFFITI ACTIVITY IN BUJANOVAC

9. October 2010.

On Saturday, October 9, 2010, the Center for Tolerance and Integration of South Serbia organized a full-day graffiti-drawing activity. The said activity is part of the “I Love Bujanovac” project, which was supported by the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja.

With the aim of promoting their city, the young from Bujanovac, who are active members of the association, asked professional graffiti artists to join the activity and write “I Love Bujanovac” on a wall in the city center. The young residents of Bujanovac joined the graffiti artists in this venture by spraying their names on the wall, thereby leaving their personal mark on the new piece of graffiti.

Along with graffiti-drawing on the wall in the center of Bujanovac, photographs of the past public  activities, which were taken as part of the “I Love Bujanovac” project, were shown by means of a video beam, so that residents of Bujanovac could get more familiar with the initiative.

The activity was supported by representatives of the local self-government, who had approved of it, as well as by tenants of the building on which the graffiti was drawn, the “Vuk Karadzic” community center, the “Everest” printing office, the “Boreli” shoe store and by the “Nesa” restaurant. All of them had provided the necessary additional equipment, thereby making it possible for the activity to be more visible.
