FLOODS HAVEN’T YET CAUSED PROBLEMS IN SOUTH SERBIA

Bujanovac – While the residents of dozens of municipalities in central and western Serbia are fighting against floods from which, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Interior, 154 people were evacuated, the situation in South Serbia isn’t yet alarming.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry, Slatinski stream gushed out in the villages of Oslare and Levosoje, which are situated in the municipality of Bujanovac, but no households are threatened, while the water level is stagnant.

In the village of Djelinci, which is situated in the municipality of Vranjska Spa, the atmospheric water in the canal, which pours into the Banjstica River, gushed out but there are no vulnerable households, whereas there is no rain at the moment.  

According to the Ministry of Interior, the “Morava” Water  Management Center from Nis declared emergency flood protection  in sector  11.2 N Zlatokop near Vranje due to an increase in the water level of the Binacka Morava River,  which comes from Kosovo and Metohija.
