FLOOD PROTECTION DISCUSSED AT PCINJ DISTRICT COUNCIL’S SESSION

Vranje – The topic of flood protection was discussed at the third session of the Pcinj District’s Council, which was, apart from members of the Council, attended by representatives of the Republican Water Management Directorate of the Water Management Inspectorate’s Department in Belgrade.

Also addressed at the session were the adoption of the Operational Plan for protection from waters to be secondly dealt with, which is the responsibility of local self-governments, as well as the issue of surveillance of public companies which carry out the collection, disposal and purification of waste waters. The issuance of water documents, as a condition for the issuance of building and occupancy permits, was also discussed. 

The session of the Council was an opportunity for representatives of local self-governments to identify the problems with cleaning river beds, sand exploitation and the lack of funds for recovering from the consequences of the floods that struck them at the beginning of the year.
