7. July 2016.

Bujanovac – A 232 kilometers’ long scouts’ regatta called "The Sad Morava River", which will be conducted along the whole course of the South Morava River, from Bujanovac to Varvarin, and which will bring together 300 participants, will be held from July 17 to 26.

The project is implemented by the Homeland 1093 Scout Troop from Vranje, whose members will inspect the left and right bank of the South Morava River to determine their condition and degree of forestation, or their defended parts.

The project is supported and funded by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia, so that all the obtained data will be referred to the Ministry of Defense’s Sector for Emergency Situations,  while each municipality will receive the documentation drawn up for their part of the bank.

Presentations of scouting will be held in the places where participants in the regatta will stop to spend the night, during which residents of those places will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the work of scouts, as well as with the conditions necessary for establishing new Scout Troops in the areas where they don’t exist.
