FIRST NIGHT OF THE FILM “WE OR THEY”

1. March 2011.

Last Thursday, members of the “Future” organization from Veliki Trnovac showed another movie, which was directed by them, to the citizens of Bujanovac. This time the residents of Bujanovac watched a feature-length movie “We or They” at the “Vuk Karadzic” community center. The said film is part of the project entitled “We Can Do Everything”. The Coordination Body supported the implementation of the entire project.

It is well-known that the said organization uses movies to indicate to the young that there are some problems in their environment.  This movie, too, deals with one of social issues, which is trafficking in human beings. The term “We”, as it is used in the film, denotes a group of young men who unwillingly found themselves on the wrong spot at the wrong time, at the moment when two young girls, on their way back from school, were kidnapped by a group of bullies. Throughout the film, “We” try to rescue the girls, which they managed to do by the end of the film

Apart from trafficking in human beings, the idea of multiethnic cooperation, which is necessary for the structural cohesion, unity, development and existence of all communities, is developed in the film. The authors of the film showed to us that two kidnapped girls wouldn’t have been rescued if it hadn’t been for multiethnic cooperation.

It’s important to underline that this organization has a multiethnic and interethnic approach to all issues. Like all other films, this one, too, was made both in Albanian and Serbian, while its creative team includes young Albanians and Serbs.
