FEWER REFUGEES IN SERBIA DUE TO A STRIKE IN GREECE

6. November 2015.

Presevo - The number of refugees entering Serbia through Presevo has drastically reduced, so that only 1,000 refugees arrived in Serbia from Greece over the past 24 hours.  This was caused by a strike of Greek ferry crews, while the strike is expected to finish in the course of the morning.

The strike made it impossible for migrants to go farther and via Greece and Macedonia enter Serbia. It is estimated that there are currently over 15,000 of migrants on the island of Lesbos.

At the moment, there are one hundred migrants in the village of Miratovac, who had come to Serbia before the strike in Greece started.

There is enough food, which arrives periodically, for a few days, and there is no lack of winter clothes.

The migrants don’t stay long in Serbia, since their aim is to register as soon as possible and move on.  They, on the average, stay in Serbia for five hours.
