11 greenhouses are going to be put up in Medvedja into the construction of which the UNHCR is going to invest around 1.5 million dinars. The construction of an eight-flat house is soon to be completed in this multinational and poor municipality. The building is to house internally displaced persons, stated the Commissariat for Displaced Persons, adding that six prefabricated houses for needy families are going to be build in this region by the end of the year.

„Our municipality has provided the infrastructure and locations for the construction of prefabricated houses,” said Slobodan Draskovic, President of the Municipality of Medvedja.

Mr. Draskovic pointed out that Medvedja intends to provide the conditions for normal life of all displaced persons and refugees, as well as for those who have been living in the region for centuries.

“The “Lece” mine, which is the main “artery” of the entire region, will soon begin to operate, Mr. Draskovic said.
