FARMERS FROM BUJANOVAC RECEIVE FINACIAL ASSISTANCE

25. June 2018.

Bujanovac - The municipal council of Bujanovac adopted a program of support to farmers in 2018 at the meeting that was held on Friday, whereas a public call for the allocation of 20 million dinars will be issued within the next week.

Stojanca Arsic, the Deputy Mayor of Bujanovac, said that he expected that the individual subsidies would cover, that year, 60 percent of the amount envisaged by the project, as opposed to last year's 80 percent. As he explained, that change would provide support to a larger number of farmers without making any interventions in the municipal budget, as was the case last year when the revised budget provided an additional 9 million dinars, so that all those who applied could receive subsidies.

“The program was fully implemented last year, and it will be this year, too - everything will be completed by the end of the year, while farmers will receive the funds in time, " Mr. Arsic said, adding that the allocation system was completely transparent and that the requirements set in the public call were complied with.

Also, the Municipal Council adopted a decision on the revised budget for an amount that was larger than 44 million dinars.

"The revised budget is determined by the amount of funds transferred from the previous year, which amount to around 44 million dinars. We also expect higher budget revenues than the originally planned ones, primarily thanks to the taxes levied from the power company," Mr. Arsic said.

“The largest portion of budgetary funds will be used for the completion of capital projects, such as the construction of the transfer station and the Jugokoop – Krsevica road. These funds will also be used for financing the engagment of medical professionals at the Bujanovac health center. That is necessary for a smooth functioning of the health center, because the ban on employing medical employees is still in force, while over 30 members of the medical personnel have left. For the time being, the engagement of medical employees on a temporary  basis is the only possible solution, "Mr. Arsic said.
