EUROPEAN PROGRESS’ ART COMPETITION FOR 2018 STARTED

18. October 2017.

Presevo, Bujanovac, Medvedja – The European Progress development program launched its annual art competition for secondary school students from 34 municipalities in South East and South West Serbia on the theme “My Favorite European Project”.

With the support of the European Union (EU) and the Swiss Government, the competition has traditionally been organized for eleven consecutive years, for the purpose of encouraging creativity among the youth in the southern part of the country.

This year’s theme is aimed at better acquainting the youth from the Program municipalities with the projects that the European Union (EU) and the Swiss Government have been supporting in their communities for a decade, thus contributing to an improved quality of people’s lives.       The secondary school students are tasked with visiting some of the projects together with their teachers, choosing their favorite project based on its importance and a positive impact on the local population. The chosen project is, thereafter, to be presented in a creative and original fashion.

The best art works selected by a panel of experts will be printed on the 2018 European Progress Calendar, while the young authors of the selected works will be awarded laptops, tablet computers and mobile phones. The best school will win a laptop and a projector.

The competition is open until November 15, 2017, while the award ceremony and Calendar promotion will be organized in December.
