EUROPEAN PROGRESS’ 2017 ART COMPETITION STARTED

20. October 2016.

Bujanovac – The European Progress development program launched its annual art competition for secondary school students from the 34 municipalities in South East and South West Serbia, on the topic of “Europe: A Wise Choice.”

This year’s topic is aimed at presenting the European integration process to youth from the municipalities covered by the program in such a manner that they recognize the numerous opportunities provided to them by the European Union, as well as at encouraging them to perceive themselves as active participants in the said process.

The participants in the “Europe: A Wise Choice” competition are expected to present creatively and originally their views on the reasons why the European Union is a “wise choice”, both for them as individuals and for Serbia as a whole, so that young people could see the benefits for them of being on the path of the European integration. This year, the European Progress has linked the competition to the European Diary, which is a tool for secondary schools, the purpose of which is to present to the students in a funny and informative manner all the relevant topics related to the EU. Therefore, the authors are expected to use the chapters of the Diary, for each of them is dedicated to one European topic, as guidelines for their works.

Twelve best works, to be selected by a jury of experts, will be published on the pages of the European Progress calendar for 2017. The authors of the selected works will be awarded laptops and tablets, as well as mobile phones, while the best school, based on the total number and the quality of all the submitted works, as well as the dedication to organizing the internal school competition, will be awarded a laptop, projector and additional equipment.

The contest is open until November 17, 2016, while the award ceremony and the promotion of the calendar will be organized in late December.
