EU PRO GIVES 25 MILLION EUROS TO THE MUNICIPALITIES ON A NON-REFUNDABLE BASIS

21. May 2018.

Leskovac – The EU PRO Program held an info session on the premises of the two-year post-secondary Business School for Vocational Studies in Leskovac, during which a public call for submitting the proposals for local infrastructure projects was presented. Representatives of 13 local self-governments of the Pcinj and Jablanica districts will be able to apply for funds in order to improve the plans for detailed regulation, local infrastructure, technical documentation and economic infrastructure. Jasmina Ilic, the Head of the Infrastructure Division within the EU PRO program, says that the program, the implementation of which started this year, is aimed at supporting the development of the municipalities by the European Union.

“We have planned to invest, through various projects done in cooperation with local self-governments, 25 million euros over the next three years. Those projects should contribute the most to the economic development. The local self-governments can engage in projects the relevant institutions as partners, such as utility companies, cultural institutions and regional agencies. It is very important that there are limits to the maximum amount of funds, but most attractive are those related to economic infrastructure, when the value of the grants goes up to one million euros," Ms. Ilic said.
