EU COUNTRIES ARE SOUTH SERBIA’S MOST IMPORTANT ECONOMIC PARTNERS

Vranje - In the first three months of 2013, the economy of Vranje achieved the total exports worth 37.7 million dollars, while the economy of Pcinj District exported a total of 41.3 million dollars, mainly to the EU countries of Germany, Italy and France, which is, compared to the same period last year, an increase of 38 percent, according to the data of the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Leskovac. The companies with the largest volume of export business include Simpo and Alfa Plam from Vranje, as well as Diva Divani from Vranje Spa, while the goods are exported to Germany, Italy and France.  

“The share of Vranje’s industry in the total exports of 13 municipalities of Pcinj and Jablanica districts is 52. 7 %. Also, Vranje’s economy, in the first quarter of the year, imported goods in the amount of 27.3 million dollars, "said Branislav Popovic, from the Regional Chamber of Commerce’s department in Vranje.

In addition to Vranje, Bujanovac and Presevo also participate in the exports. In the first quarter of 2013, Bujanovac exported goods worth $ 1.1 million, while the value of imports in the municipality was $ 2.1 million. The exports in Presevo amounted to 1.5 million dollars and the imports to 1.1 million dollars.
