EMERGENCY MEETING AT THE CLINICAL CENTER NIS ON THE COORDINATION OF MEDICAL INSTITUTIONS FROM THE AREA OF SOUTH SERBIA

28. October 2020.

Nis – On the order of the Minister of Health, Zlatibor Loncar, an emergency meeting will be held today at the Clinical Center in Nis. The topic of the meeting will be the organization of work and coordination between medical institutions during the care and treatment of COVID patients from the entire region of that part of Serbia in the coming period.

The meeting will bring together the directors of over 20 health centers from the southern and southeastern parts of Serbia, from Aleksandrovac to Presevo and from Kursumlija to Kladovo.

“The goal is to enable South Serbia, by joint coordinated work, to be fully ready for maximum engagement in providing care to all patients in the highest quality and most efficient manner during the third wave of the epidemic", stated the Clinical Center Nis.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients is increasing at the Clinical Center in Nis, so that 70% of the capacity of the Infectious Diseases Clinic has been filled. The management of the Clinical Center will also participate in the setting up of the COVID hospital in the Cair Hall. There will be no respiratory units in it, as is the case in the Belgrade Arena. The reason for its opening is the reduction of possible pressure on the Clinical Center in Nis, because the capacities for "non-COVID" patients must be preserved.
