The Embassy of Malaysia was pleased to get acquainted with the elementary school “Gornja Jablanica” and to donate it computer equipment valued at 300.000 dinars, which was procured according to the list drawn up by the school. The funds for the donation were raised at a Malaysian charity bazaar, which is a traditional charity event organized by the Embassy of Malaysia for the third year in a row.  The “Gornja Jablanica” primary school is the second school that received a donation from the funds raised at the said charity event.

The donation-awarding ceremony included interaction with the students, video presentations of Serbia and Malaysia, the cultural program prepared by the school and the exhibition of students' works of art inspired by this distant and exotic country.

“Emphasizing the value of education is exactly what we had in mind when we chose the topic of this year's charity bazaar. We are very proud to see that so many young people are interested in learning and in sports”, said Jubazlan Yusof, the Charge d' Affaires of the Embassy of Malaysia in Serbia, in the presence of the students , the school principal and the Mayor of Medvedja Slobodan Draskovic.

Mr. Yusof believes that achieving sustainable peace and harmony in the areas inhabited by the ethnically mixed population is a basic prerequisite for the development and prosperity of such areas.

Rade Savic, the world champion in power-lifting and the promotional face of the Malaysian charity bazaar 2014, participated in the donation-awarding ceremony at the school.  He addressed the students, pointing out that maintenance of a healthy lifestyle and going in for sports contributed to the building of character and to the adoption of proper values.
