ELECTIONS FOR PRESEVO MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY MEMBERS SCHEDULED FOR DECEMBER 24

Belgrade, Presevo - Maja Gojkovic, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, reached a decision on calling elections for members of the Municipal Assembly in Presevo on December 24. The decision was made pursuant to the Law on Local Elections and the Law on Local Self-Government.

According to a statement issued by the Parliament, the decision on calling the elections in that local self-government shall enter into force on the day of its publication in the "Official Gazette", when the deadlines for conducting the electoral activities shall start running.

Under provisions of the Law on Local Elections, the elections in Presevo will be the responsibility of the body competent for conducting the elections.

The Municipal Assembly of Presevo was dissolved on September 8 this year, while the Interim Body, headed by Sciprim Arifi, was appointed to run the municipality.
