E-TRAINING "SYSTEM OF LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENT AND APPLICATION OF THE PRINCIPLES OF GOOD GOVERNANCE" (DEADLINE: OCTOBER 6, 2020)

The Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities – the Association of Towns and Municipalities of Serbia (SCTM) organizes e-training (distance learning) on the topic "System of Local Self-Government and Application of the Principles of Good Governance".

The training is intended for the newly elected councilors of the assemblies of cities, municipalities and urban municipalities, who are performing this function for the first time, and will be conducted in the period from October 14 to December 4, 2020.

This seven-week Internet training offers topics and information on key areas of importance to the local self-governmental units (LSUs), such as: decentralization and the concept of local self-government (LS), LS system in Serbia, ethics of public service, bodies and organization of LS, areas and scope of LS, public services established by LS, the financing of LS, citizen participation in the management of public affairs, LS relations with other authorities, institutions and organizations, etc

The aim of this e-training is to provide councilors, who were elected for the first time after the local elections held on June 21, 2020, with basic information relevant to performing the councilor function.

This activity is organized by the SCTM, as part of the project "Strengthening the Capacity of Newly Elected Councilors through E-Learning", which is financially supported by the OSCE Mission to Serbia.

Interested councilors can apply by filling in the application form by Tuesday, October 6, 2020.

An introductory webinar for all e-training participants will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, of which all participants will be notified in a timely manner.
