DR SALIHU, DIRECTOR OF THE HEALTH CENTER IN PRESEVO: THANKS TO OUR STAFF, WE ARE AT THE TOP REGARDING THE NUMBER OF VACCINATED PERSONS

11. March 2021.

Presevo - According to the number of vaccinated citizens over the age of 75, Presevo is among the most successful municipalities in Serbia, with over 50 percent of the elderly vaccinated residents.

The director of the Health Center in Presevo, Dr. Driton Salihu, attributes the credit for the excellent response to the immunization against the corona virus to the medical staff.

Dr. Salihu says that healthcare workers constantly point out to all citizens how important it is to get vaccinated.

"Our staff has many times signed up on the e-Government portal all senior citizens who wanted to be vaccinated, but did not have the opportunity to do so without someone's help," Dr. Salihu said.

By the way, only in Presevo and six other Belgrade municipalities, more than 50 percent of people older than 75 have been vaccinated.

The total number of those vaccinated with the first dose in that city exceeded 3,500 citizens, while both doses were received by about 1,500 citizens.

For the sake of comparison, in Bujanovac, which is estimated to have ten thousand  inhabitants more than Presevo, by Monday, March 8, 1,140 locals received both doses of the vaccine, while 2,180 citizens received only the first dose of the vaccine.
