DISCRIMINATION, ROMAPHOBIA AND HOMOPHOBIA

27. February 2014.

Leskovac – The students' parliament of the secondary medical school in Leskovac and the "Education Center" organized a panel discussion on "Discrimination: Romaphobia and Homophobia”.

In April 2013, the students' parliament of the Leskovac-based medical school joined the project of the "Education Center" under the title of "United Student Parliaments in the Promotion of Human Rights".

The project is funded by the EU Delegation to Serbia, under the EIDHR program, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Through the project activities, the students’ parliament, along with 16 other secondary school students' parliaments in the Jablanica and Pcinj districts, will work on the promotion and monitoring of human rights in schools.

The said panel discussion is part of these activities, while its goal is to provide to the students' parliaments and representatives of the school managements some space for discussion on the issues of Romaphobia and homophobia among students in South Serbia, with the participation of representatives of state institutions and the civil sector.
