DEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF SERBIA: COMPETITION FOR THE BEST SELECTION OF PROJECT IDEAS FOR REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT (DEADLINE MARCH 31, 2017)

Belgrade – The Development Agency of Serbia (DAS) issued a call for the best project ideas, aimed at presenting investment projects in a region or part of the region of the Republic of Serbia.

The total prize fund for the best-ranked project idea proposals is 4 million dinars, while the value of the first prize is one million dinars. The call for applications is open until March 31, 2017, while project teams of accredited higher education institutions, which may consist of a professor in the role of a mentor and students of the institution, are eligible to participate.

“By this call, we wanted to encourage young people to think about the development of their region and the improvement of the community in which they were born or where they live. Every part of Serbia has its own specificity, which can contribute to both local and national development, and our desire is to encourage young people to show their creativity and innovation and contribute to regional recognition," said Zeljko Sertic, the DAS Acting Director.

Each project team can submit only one proposal for the project idea, while a higher education institution may participate in the competition with multiple project teams. Project ideas do not have to refer to the region that is the seat of higher education institutions. The commission will decide about the best project ideas. The runner-up idea will be awarded with 800,000 dinars, the third-ranked idea with 600,000 dinars, while 400,000 dinars will be given to the project teams in special categories: best branding solution, the solution for the best impact on the environment, the solution for the best contribution to new employment and the solution for the best impact on community development.
