DAMAGE CAUSED IN MEDVEDJA AMOUNTS TO 104 MILLION DINARS

Medvedja – The Mayor of Medvedja, Slobodan Draskovic, said that the damage caused in the municipality by the recent rainfall was estimated at around 104 million dinars.

“The Commission for the Assessment of Damage, which was formed by the municipality, determined that the damage caused to the road infrastructure, housing and other facilities, as well as to the agricultural land, amounts to  a little more than 104 million dinars. We sent a detailed list of damages to the authorized institutions in Belgrade  and expect a response from them“, said Mr. Draskovic.

The greatest damage was cuased to the road infrastructure and it amounts to 97.7 million dinars.

Mr. Draskovic said that parts of some roads in the municipality had been washed away by the  water and that it was impossible to use them for travelling.  

The water also flooded the land under agricultural crops, while the damage was estimated at over 11 million dinars.  

The Commission estimated that the water had caused the damage of 1.3 million in the flooded homes and other facilities.  

Due to the heavy rainfall and floods in early Agust, emergency situation was declared in Medvedja.
