COVID-19 CHALLENGE: A CALL FOR INNOVATIONS IN TIMES OF CRISIS (DEADLINE: APRIL 10 AND 24, 2020)

The United Nations Development Program, in cooperation with the World Health Organization, has launched a Public Call for Innovative Solutions or Replication of the Existing Solutions Used in Other Parts of the World for the purpose of protecting medical service providers and caregivers from the coronavirus, eliminating the consequences of the infection and reducing the risk of transmission of the virus.

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Serbia invites legal entities to propose new ways of producing or procuring innovative products, technological solutions and new value chains for the production or procurement of the following:

1. Personal Protective Equipment - PPE (masks, gloves, visors, etc.) to support medical service providers and the most vulnerable communities and caregivers;

2. Medical equipment, such as respirators/ventilators;

3. Coronavirus testing kits;

4. The equipment for improving the process of managing the hazardous infectious medical waste.

The aim of the challenge is not only to stimulate production in the private sector, but also to stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship in times of crisis. Finalists or the selected projects deemed to be ready for implementation will be given the opportunity to be co-financed regarding their implementation costs.

The upcoming deadlines are:

First deadline: April 10, 2020.

Second deadline: April 24, 2020.
