15. April 2019.

Presevo, Bujanovac, Medvedja – As part of the project "Partnership and Capacity Building - the Road to Sustainable Development", the Center for the Development of Jablanica and Pcinj District organized in Skoplje a workshop on  identifying and preparing joint project concepts.

The workshop was attended by mayors, municipal presidents and representatives of the cities and municipalities of the Jablanica and Pcinj district, as well as by representatives of the municipalities of the North-Eastern and Skopje regions of Northern Macedonia.

“We are here to make concrete steps in our cooperation by identifying and preparing project concepts.  We recognized the common needs, learned the common problems, while the cross-border cooperation program is a chance to solve them for the purpose of improving the lives of the citizens on both sides of the border, "said the President of the Assembly of the Center for Development, Goran Cvetanovic, at the opening of the meeting.

The aim of the workshop is to identify common interests and to draft project proposals in order to better prepare for the upcoming Serbia - Northern Macedonia Neighborhood Program. The project "Partnership and Capacity Building - the Road to Sustainable Development" has been implemented since last August.

"In October, representatives of the cities and municipalities of the Jablanica and Pcinj district and representatives of the municipalities of the north-eastern and Skopje regions of Northern Macedonia established partnerships and signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation. By holding a two-day workshop, concrete steps in mutual cooperation will be made, "said Dragana Belenzada, the Director of the Center for the Development of Jablanica and Pcinj Districts.

The project "Partnership and Capacity Building - the Road to Sustainable Development" aims at networking local self-governments of the Jablanica and Pcinj district and municipalities of northern Macedonia and raising the capacities of local self-governments to participate in the cross-border cooperation program.

The project is co-financed by the Development Agency of Serbia, the Center for the Development of Jablanica and Pcinj District and 12 local self-governmental units of the Jablanica and Pcinj district.
