COMPETITION FOR YOUTH SUPPORT

15. July 2014.

Leskovac – As a resource center for Jablanica district, the association of National Parliament, with the financial support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, announced a competition for funding youth projects.

The competition is open until July 25, while entitled to participate in it are youth associations and informal youth groups, such as students’ parliaments and other youth groups in the territory of Jablanica district. The aim of the project is to encourage activism, volunteerism and humanity of young people aged between 15 and 30.

“Due to the natural disaster that befell Serbia and the fact that it is necessary to repair the consequences of floods, this year the focus was on the humanitarian character of youth projects”, said Peter Djurovic, the  project manager.

Upon closing of the competition, the committee will determine which proposals meet the criteria of the competition, and representatives of the selected youth groups will be invited to a three-day training on writing project proposals, which will be held from July 26 to August 9, 2014.  The proposed youth volunteer projects ought to be implemented in the period from August 12 to  November 1,  2014, while the value of a youth volunteering project may range from 40,000 to 100, 000 dinars.

All interested parties may download the guidelines for submission of project ideas and application forms from the website of the National Youth Parliament or from the youth Internet portal the "Youth are Law". After the conference, an information session was held for young people, representatives of informal youth groups and youth associations, so that they could familiarize themselves with this year's competition’s guidelines.

Over the past five years, 673 youth volunteer projects were funded through the “Youth are Law” program.
