COMPETITION FOR INCENTIVES TO ENCOURAGE INVESTMENTS IN PRIMARY AGRICULTURE

Leskovac - In support of the registered farmers, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection adopted the Regulations on the Incentives to Support Investments in Primary Agricultural Production.

These regulations cover the incentives related to the program to support investments in the primary crop and livestock production:

- The purchase of new machinery and the equipment for: irrigation, protection against diseases, pests and weeds, hail, high and low temperatures, the equipment for sowing, planting and harvesting, the construction of cold storages and the purchase of new equipment for cold storages, the purchase of new equipment in greenhouses, the equipment for preparation and calibration of products for the market and the construction of facilities for the storage of grain;

- The purchase of new equipment to improve the organization and efficiency of livestock production and feedstuff preparation, which includes: the purchase of new equipment for the breeding of dairy cows, beef cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and poultry, the supply of quality breeding animals, the equipment for ponds and apiaries, the equipment to protect the welfare of animals and the equipment for storage, distribution, separation and handling of manure.

Entitled to apply for incentives are the individuals who are holders of registered farms, entrepreneurs, companies, cooperatives and secondary schools for training students in agriculture and food production and processing.

The highest total amount of incentives per applicant is two million dinars, and for certain purposes, such as the construction, extension, reconstruction or renovation of cold storages and new buildings intended for the storage of grain, up to five million dinars.

The request for the use of incentives should be submitted to the ministry responsible for agriculture – the Department of Agricultural Payments (Hajduk Veljkova 4-6, 15000 Sabac) until November 1, 2014.
