COMMISSION ESTABLISHED THAT CHILDREN AND PREGNANT WOMEN FROM VELIKI TRNOVAC DO RECEIVE MEDICAL TREATMENT ALTHOUGH THEIR HEALTH INSURANCE CARDS ARE UNCERTIFIED

13. December 2016.

Bujanovac - Children and pregnant women from Veliki Trnovac are medically treated even though their health insurance cards are uncertified.  No orders, either oral or written, were given to suspend such a practice.

This was established by a joint commission that consisted of members of the municipality of Bujanovac and the Health Centre in Bujanovac, which visited the Bujanovac Health Center’s Branch Office in Veliki Trnovac in order to check the published news on the alleged suspension of the provision of health care services to the patients with uncertified health insurance cards.

The medical staff in Veliki Trnovac said that they had not received any orders, either oral or written, from the relevant persons from the Health Center in Bujanovac, which refer to the suspension of providing health care services to the patients with uncertified health insurance cards.

During the meeting with the medical staff from Veliki Trnovac, it was noted that the right to health care of children and pregnant women was inviolable. The issue is governed by the Law on Health Care of Children Up to the Age of 18 and Pregnant Women.

This November, the municipality of Bujanovac earmarked funds in the amount of 521,276.68 dinars to cover the costs of the regularly provided medical treatment of all younger patients and pregnant women with uncertified health insurance cards.

All citizens who are denied the right guaranteed by the law are asked to contact the Advisor for the Protection of Patients in the building of the municipality of Bujanovac.
