CHILDREN FROM NIS LAUNCHED A HUMANITARIAN CAMPAIGN FOR THEIR PEERS FROM MEDVEDJA

Nis, Medvedja – The Student Parliament, together with the Peer Team,  launched a humanitarian campaign for the children living in extremely difficult conditions in the territory of the municipality of Medvedja.

Thanks to the coordination of Dragana Stevanovic, a teacher, and Maja Rudic, a psychologist, a large number of students of the elementary school "Bubanjski heroi" responded to the campaign.

“The children collected assistance for their peers, which is in the form of clothing, shoes, hygiene products, school supplies, toys and sweets. They delivered the ssistance to the Diocese of Nis, and on that occasion, the Bishop of Nis Arsenije organized a reception for the students of our school and the school principal, Verica Radenkovic, ” Dragana Stevanovic said.  

Bishop Arsenije thanked the children for their hard work, dedication and love they had showed for their peers in need of help, who live in the conditions that are unthinkable for the 21st century.

He instructed them to be first and foremost good people and then to get educated because knowledge is power.

The students were touched and expressed their desire to continue to organize some other activities that would please their friends from Medvedja a little.
