CERTIFICATES GIVEN TO YOUNG PEOPLE FROM PRESEVO, BUJANOVAC AND VRANJE

1. March 2013.

During the last year, a multiethnic group of 47 young people from Presevo, Bujanovac and Vranje organized local activities in these three municipalities. Young Roma, Albanians and Serbs jointly renovated the city parks in Vranje and Bujanovac, put the stadium and nursery garden in Presevo in order and distributed around 100 packages of humanitarian aid to the residents of collective centers.

In addition to doing volunteer work in their community, these young people attended various training courses at the Bujanovac Training Center on a daily basis, where they learned how to get employed, start their businesses and be active in their community. The English language, presentation skills, information technology and marketing skills were also the topics dealt with during their daily training courses. All these activities were taken within the YouthBuild program, which is conducted by the Civic Initiatives for the second year in a row, for the purpose of helping young people from Bujanovac, Presevo and Vranje to acquire the skills needed in the labor market.

Presentation of the results of the second year  of running of theYouthBuild program will be held in Bujanovac on March 1 2013, when participants in the program will be given certificates for their successful completion of the program, while the local companies, which helped with the undertaking of the local activities, will receive letters of thanks. Attendees of the event will also have the chance to see the premiere of a short film "YouthBuild Serbia".

During two years of implementation of the YouthBuild program, 85 young Roma, Albanians and Serbs were educated and empowered. They jointly built ramps for the disabled, painted school fences, put city parks, the stadium and nursery garden into order and distributed humanitarian aid.

The "YouthBuild-Educated and Active Young People" program is implemented by the Civic Initiatives and with the support from the Caritas Luxembourg Foundation, YouthBuild International, the Royal Netherlands Embassy and the local governments of Vranje, Bujanovac and Presevo.
