CAUTION, THREAT FROM FIRES

12. July 2016.

Vranje – The Vranje-based Office for Emergency Situations appealed to the citizens to be extremely careful when working in the fields or picnicking in the countryside during the period of high temperatures, so that the outbreaks of fire could be prevented.

The Office for Emergency Situations especially urged the citizens to refrain from starting fires outdoors.

For the purpose of preventing possible fires, it is forbidden to store crops close to the railway lines, power lines, substations, warehouses of flammable materials and the like.

Particular attention should be paid to the good working order of agricultural machinery, devices and means of transport that may make sparks when they’re used.

The Office for Emergency Situations also turned the attention of the citizens to the need to control the areas where many tourists stay, as well as the areas in which agricultural or forestry work is done.
