CALL FOR CSO REGARDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE REGIONAL YOUTH COOPERATION OFFICE

5. November 2015.

With the aim of intensifying regional cooperation in the youth sector and strengthening the European perspective of young people, a Joint Declaration, which foresees the establishment of a Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO), was adopted at the Conference of the leaders of the Western Balkans, which was held in Vienna on August 27, 2015, in the presence of and with open support of all relevant stakeholders from the European Union. Given the complexity of the process of establishing a regional body that will ensure joint activities in the region and cooperation between young people, all six signatories of the declaration from the Western Balkans (Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro and Albania) agreed that it was necessary to form a Working Group that would prepare proposals for the mission, structure, activities and the financing of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office.  The Working Group is a body composed of two representatives per signatory and it includes one representative of the institutions and one representative of the youth sector. Delegated to the Working Group, on behalf of the Republic of Serbia, is a representative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and a representative of the National Youth Council of Serbia.

Recognizing the importance of the involvement of all relevant stakeholders in the national youth policy and bearing in mind the developed structure of civil society in the Republic of Serbia, member organizations of the National Youth Council of Serbia invite all interested civil society organizations in Serbia to join the consultations in the process of forming the Regional Youth Cooperation Office and thus contribute to the quality of the proposal of the Republic of Serbia..

Respecting the established schedule of the Working Group for the establishment of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office, interested organizations, together with the National Youth Council of Serbia, will participate in the process of considering and making proposals that will be further presented at the internal meetings of the Working Group, which will operate in the period from  November 2015 to February 2016 and will be regularly informed of the process of formation of the office.

In view of the above, if you are interested in participating in the consultation process, please register a representative of your organization not later than November 15, 2015, at office@koms.rs, with the indication "Application for Consultations Regarding the Establishment of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office”.
