BETTER ELECTRIC POWER PAYMENT IN PCINJ DISTRICT

1. December 2014.

Increased electric power payment, reduced electric power losses and prevented electric power thefts - we don’t often hear such news from the Electric Power Distribution Company in Vranje. Until a few months ago, around two- thirds of the electric power delivered to the villages around Bujanovac and Presevo “disappeared”.  According to the competent persons, the situation is now much better.

Frequent checks in the field and the relocation of units with electric meters produced results.   Losses in the electric power grid in Pcinj district are reduced.

“Typically, the losses were higher in the municipalities of Bujanovac and Presevo, so that we mostly worked on reducing them in that area”, says Goran Nikolic, Director of the Electric Power Distribution Company in Vranje.

The residents of Presevo and the surrounding villages say that they regularly pay their bills, but they also say that the economic situation is bad.

The attacks on employees of the Electric Power Distribution Company became fewer, too. Incidents occur, but they are usually verbal ones and are quickly resolved.

“There are exceptions, as well as good cooperation with the police in Vranje, the prosecutor’s office and the court, so that the incident-related cases are solved with their assistance”, said the Director of the Electric Power Distribution Company in Vranje.

The percentage of electric power payment is better now, since over 90 percent of electricity consumers regularly pay their bills.
