MATTRESS PLANT OPERATES AT FULL STEAM UNTIL THE END OF THE YEAR

Bujanovac – The largest mattress plant in Europe, which is situated in Bujanovac, operates at full steam, said Sladjan Disic, Director General of „Simpo“, within which the Bujanovac mattress plant operates. The Bujanovac-based plant manufactures goods intended for exports, while a smaller portion of the manufactured goods is intended for the domestic market, and that is how things are going to remain until the end of the year.

“We have agreed upon some jobs, primarily those relating to the export of mattresses to “Ikea” and other buyers, while negotiations with two large trade chains are in progress, as well as talks with buyers on the markets on which we haven’t been present so far. Owing to the jobs that we have agreed upon thus far, as well as to the estimates of sales of our goods on the domestic market and through  foreign companies, we will be  working at full  capacity until the end of the year”, Mr. Disic said.

Director General of “Simpo” also said that the plant’s staff will be probably working overtime, so that the contractual terms and conditions could be met. In order to have such a large output, it is necessary for the raw materials and semi – manufactures to reach us easily. That is why the recently constructed warehouse of raw materials and semi-manufactures, which covers the area of 10 acres, is extremely important to us. We invested 14 million dinars in building it.

Also completed is the overhauling of the machines, which will, upon operating at half power, once again be fully operational.

The mattress plant manufactures over several hundred thousands of various types of mattresses, as well as those that meet the environmental standards, followed by 70 or so thousands of beds and over 20 thousand sofas.
