Ivana Kovacevic, State Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Visits South Serbia
A regional fair of the youth non-governmental organizations “Inter-akcija (“Interaction”) was held in Vranje from 9.30 am until 3 pm on April 26, 2010, where the young of the Pcinj and Jablanica districts, including the young of the Albanian, Roma and Serbian ethnic backgrounds from the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, presented their ideas, plans and projects.

The fair was international in character, since apart from representatives of the organizations from Serbia, participating in the fair were also project partners from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Spain, Portugal and Greece.

On behalf of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, attendees and visitors of the fair were addressed by Ivana Kovacevic, State Secretary of the said Ministry, who also paid a visit to the Youth Office in Bujanovac. Ms Kovacevic spoke at the meeting in Bujanovac, which was organized by the Center for Democracy and Development of South Serbia.

State Secretary Ivana Kovacevic said at the Bujanovac meeting that from last August until now, 3,000 scholarships had been awarded to students of the final year of studying in Serbia. The said scholarships were awarded to students for their studying at the best universities in Europe and the world.

„So far, we have funded over 350 various projects that encouraged the young to take activities. Those projects include around 100,000 young persons who take activities related to the goals of the National Youth Strategy”, Ms Kovacevic said.
