ANOTHER EARTHQUAKE IN THE VICINITY OF VRANJE

Around 8 pm on Wednesday, a minor earthquake struck again the area near Vranje and Bujanovac.  

According to the information provided by the Republican Seismological Office, the epicenter of the earthquake was in the place located between the villages of Ljiljance and Zbevac.

The magnitude of the earthquake was 3.5 degrees on the Richter scale and it was registered in  the municipality of Bujanovac at around 8 pm.

 The intensity of shaking at the epicenter of the earthquake was estimated to measure five degrees on the Mercalli scale.

As stated by the Seismological Office, such earthquakes can cause minor damage to old buildings located in the epicenter areas.

This is the second earthquake in the past week.  The first one, which measured 3.6 degrees on the Richter scale, occurred on Sunday, while its epicenter was in the village of Zbevac, near Bujanovac.

Both earthquakes were felt by the residents of Vranje, Bujanovac, Presevo and the surrounding villages.
