ANNUAL MEETING OF PROGRESS IN BUJANOVAC

Bujanovac – The third annual meeting of the Steering Committee of the Program of the European Partnership with Municipalities "EU PROGRESS" will be held today in Bujanovac. According to the announcements, the annual report for the period from July 2012to June 2013 will be presented at the meeting.  Board members will consider approving the financial support of the projects for the promotion of gender equality that is  based on the initiatives of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Serbia, the analysis of  disproportionate supply and demand in the labor market, the increasing of social inclusion of vulnerable social groups, support to the Regional Center for People with Mental Disabilities in Novi Pazar, preparation of the plan for a detailed regulation of the Ribnice zone in Vranje, procurement of computer programs for recording the public property  of local self-governments, as well as vocational training for workers in the textile, clothing and footwear industries in Novi Pazar, Raska, Tutin and Sjenica.

Participants in the meeting include representatives of the Office of the Serbian Government for the European Integration and the relevant ministries, 25 municipalities participating in the implementation of the EU PROGRESS, representatives of development agencies and projects, civil society, donors - representatives of the European Union and the Government of Switzerland, while the United Nations Office for Project Services – UNOPS - as the implementing partner,  has a secretarial role of the Board.

Shortly before the meeting, the mayor of Bujanovac, Nagip Arifi, will receive a major project for the transfer station in Bujanovac, which is, through the EU PROGRESS, funded by the European Union and the Government of Switzerland.
