AMBASSADOR STUDMAN MEETS WITH THE COORDINATION BODY’S PRESIDENT

A special representative of the OSCE Chairman for the Western Balkans, Gerard Studman, met with Zoran Stankovic, President of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja.  Discussed at the meeting was the Coordination Body’s role in solving the problems of the three municipalities. 

On thаt occasion, Мr. Stankovic acquainted Ambassador Studman with the Coordination Body’s function, its role of coordinating between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the three municipalities and with the economic and political situation in the area of the three municipalities. 

In this regard, the Coordination Body’s President aired once again his view that the upcoming elections were an opportunity for the Albanian community in South Serbia to elect their representatives in the National Assembly and have their requirements fulfilled through the adoption of laws.  Mr. Stankovic pointed out that he had always conveyed to  the  Albanian political leaders Belgrade’s  particular desire  regarding their participation in the elections.  

Ambassador Studman welcomed the decision of the Party for Democratic Action, as well as the willingness of its members to participate in the elections, considering it politically responsibile. 

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Studman congratulated the Coordination Body’s President on his approach to work.
