As part of the cooperation between the famous Spanish club and the UNHCR, Ramon Garrigues and Laura Sentis visit the cities in Serbia where refugee camps are located.

As explained by Mr. Garrigues, the Barcelona’s Foundation was present in Serbia for the first time, and its goal was to find out about the operation and conditions in the refugee camps, while it was particularly interested in the sports activities of children.

"We have come to see how sporting activities are conducted in this area and if the young migrants are involved in them - we are glad they are," said Mr. Garrigues, who was accompanied by   two Nigerians from the refugee camp in Bujanovac, who practice football with BSK players on a daily basis.

The BSK Board members familiarized representatives of the Foundation with how they worked with the younger members of the club, adding that there were ten or so children from the refugee camp among 50 young football players.

According to the visitors from Barcelona, they could provide assistance in the form of sports equipment, as well as bring qualified trainers who are specialized in working with children.

"Our foundation uses the name of the famous Barcelona to provide funds and promote, through sports, the inclusion of children in society," Mr. Garrigues said.
