ADVANCED TRAINING FOR TEACHERS OF SERBIAN AS A SECOND LANGUAGE

Bujanovac – As part of the project "Implementation of the Recommendations to Improve the Teaching of Serbian as a Second Language in Elementary Schools in Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja," advanced training for teachers was organized at the Department of the Faculty of Economics in Bujanovac. They underwent the first cycle of training during the 2014/2015 school year. In cooperation with the Provincial Secretariat for Education, Regulations, Administration and National Minorities - National Communities and the Pedagogical Institute of Vojvodina, the teachers teaching the aforementioned school subject in the territory of the AP of Vojvodina attended the training, too.

The advanced four-day training was focused on the topics of splitting up the linguistic knowledge in the following four skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking. The topics included familiarizing the teachers with the domains of knowledge for each skill, knowledge transfer, finding training materials, as well as with the evaluation and testing of each of the skills according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

The first testing of students, after the beginning of implementation of the program, was carried out in September 2015, the second in February 2016, while the third testing, following the advanced training, was completed on May 31, 2016 .

The project is implemented by the Coordination Body, with the support of the British Embassy, ​​the Office of the High Commissioner for National Minorities, the European Progress program and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development.
