ACADEMY OF CENTRAL EUROPEAN SCHOOLS: CALL FOR PROPOSALS FOR SCHOOL INITIATIVES IN CONTRIBUTING TO SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT AND SOCIAL INCLUSION (DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 28, 2017)

The Academy of Central European Schools (ACES) issued a call for projects of the schools/ communities that face social challenges. School projects provide a concrete framework for the combination of learning, training, provision of information, the undertaking of activities and new encounters. They make learning more interesting, make it possible for students to experience  successful participation and civic engagement, and promote the development of competencies and skills necessary for young people to live and work in the 21st century. Work on relevant topics and pressing issues of their living environments require from students and teachers to view things beyond the scope of their own lives and prospects. Acting jointly with its partners, they have an important influence on their communities. In addition, international experience and the exchange at the Academy provide a broader European perspective.

Students and teachers of public schools in the partner countries in which aces-act local program is implemented are encouraged to find a local non-school partner(s) and to submit a partnership project proposal with concrete ideas for cooperation at the community level. The call refers to public schools of all kinds in the countries eligible to participate, with the target group of students aged from 13 to 17.

The working language at the Academy is English (international communication), but it is possible to use other languages ​​in local projects. 

The theme of the call is "Each Person is Important. Together for Social Inclusion." In order to better respond to the pressing issues and social challenges of communities in the region, the program aces - act local requires local school initiatives that contribute to sustainable social development and strengthen the local civil society.
